Rev. Stewart gives a teach-in on Independent Civilian Review Boards

On May 6, 2014, Rev. Lewis Stewart from the United Christian Leadership Ministry presented on the history of the struggle to get an independent civilian review board, UCLM's strategy for how to get one now, and how Enough Is Enough, allies, and people who have used the current civilian review process can act for real independent change. Below is the video of the teach-in and the conversation that followed.
Rev. Stewart is looking for folks who have used the CRB in order to speak at a city council hearing on May 20, 2014. Community is also encouraged to come out and be present in solidarity. If you'd like to speak with him, please call his office: 454-0077.

On May 20, 2014, a call has gone out for people to speak to City Council and explain why an independent civilian review board is so important.
Rally + March
There will be a rally on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, 6:00PM in front of Downtown United Presbyterian Church 121 N. Fitzhugh St. & then a march to City Hall!
SPEAK AT CITY COUNCIL
Then at 6:30PM in City Council Chambers, Rochester City Hall, 30 Church Street people can speak out about their own experiences using the CRB process as it is now or demand a better system that is accountable.
In order to "Speak to Council" you must call (585) 428-7421 before 5:30 p.m. of the Meeting day. You will need to provide your name, address, the organization you are representing (if any), and the topic you plan to speak about (an independent civilian review board).

Speaking of Banning stuff, people will also be speaking out against hydraulic fracturing (fracking) and demanding that City Council ban fracking in the city.
