Activists held funeral marches, delivered letters to store managers, gathered petition signatures & rallied outside Walmart and Gap stores.</p><p>The day of action was held because, in the last eight years, 1,834 garment workers have been killed in factory fires and building collapses in Bangladesh. To prevent more tragedies, activists have called on corporations to sign the Bangladesh Accord. Over sixty global apparel companies have signed it, including five US companies. Activists held funeral marches, delivered letters to store managers, gathered petition signatures & rallied outside Walmart and Gap stores.</p><p>The day of action was held because, in the last eight years, 1,834 garment workers have been killed in factory fires and building collapses in Bangladesh. To prevent more tragedies, activists have called on corporations to sign the Bangladesh Accord. Over sixty global apparel companies have signed it, including five US companies.
