Hilderbrant Campaign Reaches Latest Fundraising Goal

The Hilderbrant for County Legislature campaign just surpassed it's goal of raising $3000 in one month in order to maximize a donor's pledge of matching funds. <!--break--> <p>Chris Hilderbrant for County Legislature<br />Campaign Update<br />September 15, 2005<br /><br />To all my supporters:<br /><br />Tonight marks the end of our fundraising matching drive and we are <br />proud to announce an awesome success!  When we began this drive - just one<br />month ago - we set a fairly lofty goal of raising $3,000 in one month. <br />Tonight I’m very happy to tell you that not only did we meet that goal…<br />but we soundly surpassed it!<br /><br />Through the generosity of more than two dozen donors in the past month<br />we raised nearly $3,600!  And with the matching contribution promised<br />by one generous individual, we have brought in over $7,000 – just in<br />time for the home stretch of this campaign!  Incredible.<br /><br />We have 300 yard signs ready to go, some of which traveled with us in<br />the Labor Day Parade.  We just received a shipment of another 2,500<br />magnets since we have run out of the first 2,500 – can you picture<br />5,000 refrigerators in the district with a “Chris Hilderbrant for<br />County Legislator” magnet?!  The new funding will go toward mailings to<br />get our message to so many more voters in the district, more literature<br />for door-to-door walking/wheeling, targeted mailings to selected<br />demographics and many more campaign expenses.<br /><br />While all this fundraising has been going on, many volunteers and I <br />have been out continuing to connect with the voters in the district.  I’ve<br />got to say that as we get closer to election, the response I’ve had<br />from people has become even more positive!  The people are glad to have<br />a choice, an independent, someone not bound by party-line, someone with<br />a history of advocating for what is needed by people not politicians.<br /><br />After walking door-to-door until after the sun goes down, I’ve spent<br />many of my late nights reading and responding to surveys from various<br />local and statewide community groups.  We are expecting to be able to<br />announce several major endorsements in the next few weeks – so keep an<br />eye out for that!<br /><br />It’s been an awesome experience, just a month and a half to go!<br />Thank you!<br /><br />Chris<br />---<br />Chris Hilderbrant for County Legislature<br />Legislative District 6 – Greece / Charlotte<br /><a href="http://www.hilderbrant.org/">www.Hilderbrant.org</a><br /></p><p>[contact Dave Atias to get involved in the campaign - 966-9067  / <a href="mailto:greenpmc34@yahoo.com">greenpmc34@yahoo.com</a>]</p>
