Green Party of Monroe County Announces 2005 Party Officers
(Rochester) - The Green Party of Monroe County party took a major stride towards positioning itself for electoral success by electing the largest class of officers in its history. On Monday, January 10, 2005, Jason Nabewaniec and Zuzanna Szewczyk were elected as the Green Party of Monroe County's first Co-Chairs, adding greater diversity and balance to the role formerly occupied by a single person. The Green Party once again lived up to its vision of gender balance at all levels of the organization. Deborah Magone-Fragale was elected to the position of Vice-Chair, Rebecca Boyd will replace Szweczyk as Secretary and Joe Young will return for a second year in the role of Treasurer.
Zuzanna Szewczyk, 23, is a graduate student at the Eastman School of Music (piano performance). She has served for two years as the GPoMC secretary and looks forward to co-chairmanship with Nabewaniec.
Jason Nabewaniec, 26, of Brighton has previously served as Vice-Chair and Chair of the Green Party of Monroe County and currently serves on the Coordinating Committee of the Green Party of the United States.
Deborah Magone-Fragale, 45, is a vocal activist for democracy and economic and social justice, and should easily make the transition to an official leadership role in the Green Party.

"I'm proud to serve as Vice-Chair with the local chapter of the third largest electoral party in the United States. The Green Party is one of the few electoral parties that stands together for real Democracy and the voting rights of all citizens in America. We are not beholden to corporate political will," stated Deborah Magone-Fragale, adding, " I'm honored to be a part of the leadership our county deserves."
"The Green Party is the electoral voice of progressive activists all across America. We are fully prepared to advocate for issues of importance in key local races this year. Monroe County needs more democracy," said Szewczyk.
