            • On Monday, January 10, 2005, Jason Nabewaniec and Zuzanna Szewczyk were elected as the Green Party of Monroe County's first Co-Chairs, adding greater diversity and balance to the role formerly occupied by a single person. The Green Party once again lived up to its vision of gender balance at all levels of the organization. Deborah Magone-Fragale was elected to the position of Vice-Chair, Rebecca Boyd will replace Szweczyk as Secretary and Joe Young will return for a second year in the role of Treasurer. <!--break--> <p align="center"><u><strong>Green Party of Monroe County Announces 2005 Party Officers</strong></u></p><p>(Rochester) - The Green Party of Monroe County party took a major stride towards positioning itself for electoral success by electing the largest class of officers in its history.  On Monday, January 10, 2005,  <strong>Jason Nabewaniec and Zuzanna Szewczyk</strong> were elected as the Green Party of Monroe County's first Co-Chairs, adding greater diversity and balance to the role formerly occupied by a single person. The Green Party once again lived up to its vision of gender balance at all levels of the organization. <strong>Deborah Magone-Fragale</strong> was elected to the position of Vice-Chair, <strong>Rebecca Boyd</strong> will replace Szweczyk as Secretary and <strong>Joe Young</strong> will return for a second year in the role of Treasurer. </p><p>Zuzanna Szewczyk, 23, is a graduate student at the Eastman School of Music (piano performance). She has served for two years as the GPoMC secretary and looks forward to co-chairmanship with Nabewaniec. </p><p>Jason Nabewaniec, 26, of Brighton has previously served as Vice-Chair and Chair of the Green Party of Monroe County and currently serves on the Coordinating Committee of the Green Party of the United States. </p><p>Deborah Magone-Fragale, 45, is a vocal activist for democracy and economic and social justice, and should easily make the transition to an official leadership role in the Green Party. </p><p>Rebecca Boyd, 29, is a graduate student at the Eastman School of Music (violin performance). This is Boyd's first official position with the Green Party. </p><p>Joseph Young, 34, will be continuing in his role as treasurer of the Green Party of Monroe County. </p><p>Co-Chairs Nabewaniec and Szewczyk are recruiting qualified candidates who will advance the Green Party's key values while in public office. There are nearly 400 Green Party officeholders in the United States. We came to this decision after we had repeated spam posted to our website that caused difficulty with the website's functioning.  We will still have open publishing and keep our site as nonrestrictive and accessible as possible.

The Rochester Independent Media Center (R-IMC) is no longer meeting regularly.
We will set up meetings by necessity and appointment. Please contact us at rochesterindymedia@rocus.org.
Our home is still the Flying Squirrel Community Space at 285 Clarissa St. Occasionally, we hold meetings at RCTV located at 21 Gorham Street.
