12pm: 2 antiwar activists are currently being detained outside the Blue Cross (War Memorial) Arena by Police. The Arena is hosting "Spirit of America" , a military propaganda event this weekend. Jake Allen and Shenzi Scipione entered the building wearing Staff event T-shirts earlier in the day. Currently we are awaiting more info on what the 2 activists were doing when they were discovered by Blue Cross Arena Staff. We have heard that Blue Cross personnel are asking for the 2 to be charged with trespass.

Uploaded in two parts is a phone interview with Ted Forsyth, an independent journalist with Rochester Indymedia, who was there at the scene and saw it all. In part one Ted tells of the police attack and the events that lead up to the attack. In part two he tells of the conditions at the detention center where those arrested were held. And the support that fellow activists were able to provide to their friends and comrades who were victimized by the police.

Udi Nir, who was part of a new group of high school seniors who signed a declaration of refusal to take part in the Israeli occupation by joining the Israeli army was sentenced on August 20th to 21 days in a detention center. He was arrested one day after he did not show up at the Induction Base and was immediately sentenced to 6 days in a detention center. The next the he was tried again and sentenced to 21 days for refusing to follow an order to enlist.

Jeff Halper, a Jewish Israeli who joined the delegation of humanitarian activist in the Free Gaza campaign was arrested by Israeli authorities. The campaign involved two boats that sailed from Cyprus to Gaza to deliver humanitarian aid and raise consciousness about the harsh conditions Palestinians are forced to live under in the Gaza Strip. The activist also accompanied Palestinians who usually get shot at when they attempt to fish in their waters.

I WOULD THINK THAT AMERICA'S VOTING BLACK COMMUNITY NATIONWIDE IS ENTITLED TO HEAR FROM SENATOR OBAMA ABOUT THIS HORROR AFFECTING OUR POORER AMERICAN BLACKS ???
