Alex White announces a "New Deal" for Rochester

Green Party candidate Alex White announced a "New Deal" for Rochester NY if voters elect him mayor in November. It includes proposals to create jobs by putting local people to work, not by building buildings. White has also called for changes in law enforcement including a new Chief of Police.
The announcement comes a day after council member Lovely Warren defeated incumbent mayor Tom Richards in the Democratic primary. Richards, who succeeded Robert Duffy upon his election to Lieutenant Governor, was a strong proponent of business tax breaks and taxpayer subsidized building projects to create jobs. The promised jobs have not materialized. Voters are looking for a change be it White or Warren.
