Woman Gets Anti-Semitic Hate Mail
Primary tabs
Anti-semitic hate mail was sent to a woman after she spoke out about the Town of Greece opening its town board meetings with Christian prayer.
"What the Fuck is the matter with you Bitch. Stay the Hell out of your town , you Jew Bitch. Hitler should have exterminated all of you damn Jew problems, he must have missed your Jew Fucker parents," stated the letter. "Get a LIfe you divorced old whore! God, you are ugly bitch." It was signed "The Man."
Rochester Indymedia recently received a copy of the police report, though the original complaint was filed with police in 2007. Hate mail was also sent to the two Greece residents who filed a lawsuit in 2007 claiming the town was violating the establishment clause, a component of the First Amendment that prohibits the government from acting to establish a religion, by inviting almost only Christian clergy, who delivered mostly sectarian Christian prayers. During ten years only three non-Christians delivered the prayer, but not until after the lawsuit was filed. After those three people it reverted back to only Christian clergy. The case, Town of Greece v. Galloway, will be argued in the U.S. Supreme Court on November 6, 2013. Rochester Indymedia recently published an article about the decorum policies for town board meetings in Greece. The name of the woman has been hidden in the copy of the police report to protect her identity.
Here is the hate mail to Linda Stephens, one of the complainants from the original lawsuit:
