The Monroe County Health Department confirms multiple cases of rabies
have been found in area neighborhoods.
Five animals, including four raccoons, a skunk, and a fox have tested
positive for rabies this year, by the Monroe County Health Department.
The most recent case involved a fox who bit a 5 year old girl in her
driveway in Brighton on Tuesday. The fox is said to have also attacked
cats, a squirrel and chased two other humans.
The girl's father, who chased the fox away, reports the child is
responding well to a series of rabies shots.
