Area Groups Organize to Participate in Actions against Republican National Convention

A number of local groups are organizing transportation to New York City for the upcoming actions during the Republican National Convention (RNC). Poor People United (PPU) is planning to participate in the Bushville Tent cities during the week preceding the RNC, the August 30th March for Our lives and other events. The group will hold a planning meeting Thursday August 19th. Call 585-464-8965 or 585-464-0186 for more information on the Poor People United mobilization.

The Peace Action task force of Metro Justice is planning an overnight bus to New York City for the United for Peace and Justice March on August 29th. The Bus will leave late Saturday/ early Sunday and return late Sunday/early Monday. Contact the Metro Justice office at 585-325-2560 for more details.

On Sunday, August 15, immediately following the Rochester Indymedia Monthly Screening, groups and individuals planning to go to New York City for the RNC are invited to come to discuss and network for upcoming actions. There are many ways to get involved and this meeting will provide an opportunity to find out how to plug in. The Screening and discussion will take place at theVisual Studies Workshop(31 Prince Street) at 3pm, use the gallery entrance.
