FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLICDr. Shawgi Tell received his Ph.D. in Social Foundations of Education from the University at Buffalo in 1997. His main research interests include education reform, specifically charter schools; education governance; urban education; and the political economy of schooling. His forthcoming book, "Charter School Report Card," will be released in 2012.
Mark Garrison is Associate Professor of Education Policy and Research, and Director of Doctoral Programs at D’Youville College, Buffalo, NY. His work focuses on the politics of education reform, and the need for a new definition of public education. He is author of A Measure of Failure: The Political Origins of Standardized Testing (SUNY Press).
