As the nuclear disaster in Japan continues and anti nuclear sentiment rises in the US, energy companies and the governments are sure to exploit this situation to push the need for hydrofracking in the Marcellus Shale. <!--break--> A forum was held by the Interfaith Impact of New York State to inform the public about the the growing issue of hydrofracking in NYS and particularly in the Marcellus Shale. The forum consisted of four parts covering different issues and concerns about this controversial issue. The forum consisted of four speakers. 1.Richard Gilbert, a retired Unitarian Universalist Minister, spoke on the eco justice and earth care a theological ethical overview on environmental issues using hydrofracking as a case study. 2. Dr. William Podulka, a physicist and educator about hydrofracking, spoke about the process of hydrofracking, its facts and myths. 3. Mike Lovegreen, Conservation District manager in Bradford County(PA), discussed on the ground perspective and its many practical implications on the community where hydrofracking is taking place. 4.
