New Progressive Local Talk Show Debuts March 19

THE JASON CRANE SHOW DEBUTS MARCH 19 AT NOON ON NEWSTALK 950 WROC Live. Local. Progressive. It's not a dream -- it's reality. Starting Saturday, March 19 at noon, Rochester will finally have a weekly progressive radio show.
The Jason Crane Show on NewsTalk 950 WROC will talk about the issues that other local media outlets won't cover. You'll hear progressive voices you won't hear anywhere else. And we'll bring you guests you'll hear on other stations -- but we'll ask them better questions.
On the first show, March 19:
-- Our "Talk Box" panel looks at the week's local news from a (gasp!) progressive viewpoint.
-- Educator Howard Eagle talks about alternatives to the Rochester City School District's plan to close schools -- and why it's still not too late to do something about it.
-- Susan Jacoby, author of Freethinkers, discusses the history of American secularism and its place in today's increasingly theocratic society. (Part 1 of a 4-part series)
-- Veteran reporter Richard Zitrin on the state of newspaper journalism in Rochester.
-- Andrew Stankevich, founder and director of Friends Helping Friends, in our weekly Success Story segment.
And that's just the first show!
NewsTalk 950, our local Air America Radio affiliate, is making a serious effort to reach out to Rochester's progressive community.
