Band of Rebels Halloween Costume Protest
Primary tabs
Join us on Halloween in a costume that makes a statement!
The Band of Rebels will be holding their weekly protest this coming Monday, October 31 from 12:00-1:00 in front of the Bank of America, across from the Liberty Pole. Since it is Halloween, we are encouraging everyone to wear a costume, but one with a message! If you have a superhero costume, simply put on a sign saying “Unemployed Superhero†or transform a cat costume by wearing a sign that says “Fat Cat Bankerâ€! If you carry a sign that says “I am the 1%†and don lots and jewelry and a fur coat, your message will be loud and clear! Or, how about taping a counterfeit 1000 dollar bill across your mouth accompanied by a sign saying “Big Money has Silenced my Voiceâ€? And, of course, the Guy Fawkes mask says it all! The important thing is that this isn’t really a costume party, it is another, and very visual way to get out our message. So, be creative and have fun with it! And if you are not inclined to wear a costume, this is perfectly fine. The important thing is that your attend!
We are also asking that everyone wear a white armband with Scott Olsen’s name written in red. We want to express our concern for him, our outrage at the behavior of the police, and take the opportunity to draw attention to what happened to the public.
So, we hope to see lots and lots of you on Monday – our numbers are growing and we really are becoming a force that can no longer be ignored!
