Band of Rebels show Solidarity on Columbus Day
With Occupy Wall Street Protesters
What: Now entering its 3rd week, the Occupy Wall Street Protest has spread to hundreds of cities, including Rochester! Tens of Thousands of the 99%, including unions and community groups took to the streets on October 5th in the largest rally to date.
Here in Rochester, the Band of Rebels protest the corporate greed and government corruption that is destroying our country. This month, we are targeting the largest bank in the country, Bank of America. Their practices destroy families and communities, they pay no Federal income taxes, and they are accused of hiding assets in offshore tax havens, and have received billions in Federal tax benefits.
Speaker: Michael Lenz who teaches history and political science at MCC will address the crowd.
Music: Musician Warren Loeffler will perform “Stop the Money†and other songs.
When: Monday, October 10, 2011 from 12:00-1:00.
Where: Liberty Pole, across from Bank of America, corner of Main Street and East Ave.
Who: The Band of Rebels and friends. We are a group grandparents and allies who are determined to restore the American dream for our grandchildren and fight for a viable future for all. We have taken to the streets to target those corporations and institutions that are destroying our nation. We demand that our government be accountable to the 99% of the population who work hard to provide for their families and have been victimized and brutalized by the top 1%.
