Sometime between noon and 1PM on Thursday, June 23, Good went to the Arnett branch library for an hour. Upon arrival back home, she noticed the back door was open—the dead bolt busted and the door frame broken through. Doors were opened in the house and Good and her roommate's things in their bedrooms had been rifled through. The only stolen items were Good's: a few hundred dollars of hidden cash and the ipod used to video tape the traffic stop and arrest in front of her Aldine St. residence. "That morning I was home alone and I took precautions i don't usually take like locking the the front door instead of leaving it open because I felt like I was being watched. I was hanging the laundry out in the backyard and felt like I was being watched," Good said. Nothing else was touched or taken. Good called community members and dialed 9-1-1. Twenty-five minutes after calling 9-1-1, police swarmed the scene with eight marked police cruisers and a technician van. A report was filed. Good and her two roommates have lived in the house for over 2 years and have never experienced anything like Thursday's break-in. Neighbors confirmed that it was a very odd occurrence. "To me the robbery felt like intimidation. I don't know if it was the police or connected to the police, but it felt intimidating," Good stated. A video of the damage and the burglary report will be posted later today.</p>

Account Creation Policy Change

Rochester Indymedia is now requiring editor approval for account creation.

We came to this decision after we had repeated spam posted to our website that caused difficulty with the website's functioning.  We will still have open publishing and keep our site as nonrestrictive and accessible as possible.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.  As before, we will continue to be Rochester's grassroots news and education site.  Thank you for your continued support and remember, "Don't hate the media, be the media!"

Editorial Meeting Times / Locations

The Rochester Independent Media Center (R-IMC) is no longer meeting regularly.
We will set up meetings by necessity and appointment. Please contact us at rochesterindymedia@rocus.org.
Our home is still the Flying Squirrel Community Space at 285 Clarissa St. Occasionally, we hold meetings at RCTV located at 21 Gorham Street.
