Primary tabs
The acclaimed documentary titled “Gasland,†will be shown Tuesday, March 8, 7 pm, at the Living in Harmony meeting, Henrietta United Church of Christ, 1400 Lehigh Station Road.

In 2009, filmmaker Josh Fox learned his home in the Delaware River Basin was on top of the Marcellus Shale, a rock formation containing natural gas that stretches across New York, Pennsylvania and huge stretches of the Northeast. He was offered $100,000 to lease his land for a new method of drilling called hydrofracking, which was developed by Halliburton; he soon discovered this was only a part of a 34 state drilling campaign, the largest domestic natural gas drilling boom in history. Josh Fox set out across the country to learn more about this method of natural gas drilling - and a film was born.
If you have not yet seen this important film about the process of extracting natural gas from shale and its potential environmental and health problems, don’t miss it!
