The Movie." The movie was inspired by William Bryant Logan's book Dirt: The Ecstatic Skin of the Earth - it is a look into the history and current state of the living organic matter that we come from and will later return to. We cannot survive as a species without viable soil for growing food. Also, with today's renewed interest in local and organic food, as well as sustainability of ecosystems, the film is a relevant addition to the discussion. And most important of all - this film shows people doing positive things to make a difference! Dirt is a part of everything we eat, drink and breathe. Which is why we should stop treating it like, well, dirt.
