A Newsday review of CUNY (SUNY) construction fund reports has found that the construction cost of only 22 CUNY projects went more than $600 million over budget, bringing the total cost to taxpayers and students to $1.6 billion. Dormitory Authority officials allowed costs to rise - in some cases to double what was initially approved and awarded millions in contracts to MOB related construction firms.
To date these DASNY officials have been using New York State funds to pay millions in legal fees to Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, out of Washington DC to cover-up their crimes. The question remains, why NY State Attorney General isn’t investigating these crimes?
