Poet, photographer, and labor activist Mark Nowak will be at RIT on Tuesday March 30 as part of the tour for his new book, Coal Mountain Elementary, a photo-documentary volume on coal mining disasters in the US and China that Howard Zinn called "a stunning educational tool.†His previous book, Shut Up Shut Down (afterword by Amiri Baraka) was a finalist for the James Laughlin Prize (Academy of American Poets) and a NY Times "Editor's Choice."
Mark Nowak will be reading at 4 pm in the College of Liberal Arts Faculty Lounge (06-1251) at RIT.
Free and open to the public.
He will also be speaking at noon the same day in Professor Vincent Serravallo’s Sociology of Work class (12-3235).
