Film: Roots of Migration
Primary tabs
Why do people from Latin America continually seek to enter this country despite all the dangers of crossing the border, and despite the difficulties
they face after they arrive? This video, prepared by Witness for Peace, tells the story of families from Oaxaca, Mexico. Why do people leave? What happens to the village when so many are gone?
Vera Leone of the Washington office of Witness for Peace will be present to discuss the video and answer questions. Vera became involved in social change as a student organizer while studying at Guilford College. She has served a six-month prison sentence for actions taken while protesting at the School of the Americas.
