Discussion Panel: "Contests: On the Front Lines of Change" with local activists
Primary tabs
'Contests: On the Front Lines of Change' is a central discussion panel in the 'Contests and Continuities' Statewide Sociology conference from Oct 16-Oct 17 at St. John Fisher College.
The thematic discussion panel "Contests: On the
Front Lines of Change" features a number of well known activists (Rochester's Bob Good and Buffalo's Mike Niman) and groups - including Students for a Democratic Society (with Jake, Jake, Maggie, and Ryan), Rochester Indy Media (with Andy and Ted), the older Anti-War Storefront (with Louise) and the new Flying Squirrel Community Space (Andy, Ted, and Bob), Erin's new Mud Creek Farm CSA, and Small World Bakery (with Luke and Eli). This panel is a slow paced reflection on the motivations for, and challenges of, social justice/visionary work.
The discussion panel is scheduled for Sat, Oct 17 from 11-12:30 in Mid-Level Gateway at St. John Fisher College. (Again, see the conference website at http://nyssa09.wordpress.com/ for more details.)
