Looking for donated military clothes for upcoming play
Primary tabs
BWT is producing a play called Troilus and Cressida by William Shakespeare that we will be using as a commentary on the horrors of modern war and are looking for current military clothes to be donated to the production effort. (please forward to anyone who may be interested)
Hello All,
My name is J.R. Teeter and I am the Artistic Director/CEO of Bread & Water Theatre, a not-for-profit arts organization in the Greater Rochester Area. We are currently in production of William Shakespeare's Troilus and Cressida which is a Romeo and Juliet style love story set in the backdrop of the Trojan War.
We are producing this play as a way to focus on the complexities of modern war. All of the characters will be dressed in modern clothing and the soldieres will be dressed in modern military uniforms.
The reason I am posting this message is because there may be active duty, reserve or retired soldiers of the current Afghan and Iraq wars on this website. If you are one of these people we are looking for things that you may have that would make our production look more authentic. Here is a basic list:
-Digital camoflag (desert camoflag) pants -Digital camoflag (desert camoflag) shirts -Brown undershits (L, XL, XXL) -Desert boots (size 10-12)
If you have any of these items and are willing to donate them we will happy supply you with a tax deductable donation form for your records, (if you like) acknowledge you in the program and reimburse you for your shipping costs. It does not matter if these items are dirty, stained, torn or somehow damaged everything is usable for our production.
We hope with this production we are able to show the complexity of war while at the same time drawing more discussion to the current conflict in the gulf and other conflicts around the world. Please contact me through the information below and I will try my best to respond in a timely manner.
