Women who refused to serve in the Israeli army will be speaking in Ithaca on September 29th

She is part of a group of Israeli High school students that signed a letter in 2008 when they were in twelve grade where they declared they would not serve in the Israeli army. In the letter they asserted they would not help the Israeli Army to occupy Palestinian territory and rules over Palestinian life. Since military service is mandatory for Israeli Jews once they have completed high school many of them including her were eventually sentenced to military prison. Some were sentenced to military prison multiple times.
