U.S. Sen. Blanche Lincoln has announced today at an event at the Political Animals Club, she cannot support the Employee Free Choice Act in its current form, a bill which would make it easier for workers to organize unions. <br /> <br /> <strong>"I cannot support that bill. I cannot support it in its current form," Lincoln told those gathered for the luncheon at the governor's mansion. "I may not have said that as clearly before, but I'm saying it now."</strong> <br /> <br /> In 2004, Lincoln earned the rare distinction of being backed by both the Arkansas chapter of the AFL-CIO and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. She said Monday she considers herself a friend of both business and labor. <br /> <br /> "Those are the two groups of people we need at the table more than anybody," she said. The details aren't out, but <strong>BNA is saying that one of the compromises being floated would require the use of dual-purpose-like cards, offering the employee a choice of selecting the union or simply asking for an election.
