On Tuesday, April 28, hundreds of LGBT New Yorkers and straight allies will travel from all corners of the state to lobby our legislators to act on crucial issues like transgender non-discrimination protections, Equal Marriage, and safety in schools for LGBT youth.Register now! Here’s an overview * Scheduled legislative visits with your Assemblymember and State Senator to share your stories and emphasize the need to pass marriage equality legislation, the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act (GENDA), the Dignity for All Students Act and other important legislation. * Powerful keynote speeches at a lunchtime rally on the grounds of the State Capitol by leaders in the LGBT movement and straight allies from across the state. * Networking and resource-sharing opportunities with hundreds of LGBT community members and our allies. Caucuses have been planned for people of color, youth, college students, seniors, PFLAG members and transgender people. Don’t worry if you’ve never lobbied a legislator. The Empire State Pride Agenda will provide you with all the information and training you need.
