GLSEN Day of Silence - April 17, 2009
Primary tabs
This year's Day of Silence will be held on April 17th at high school and college campuses across the country.
The Day of Silence was started by GLSEN in 1996, as a student protest against the harassment and discrimination that LGBTQ students are subject to in school everyday. Last year's DOS was held in honor of Lawrence King, a 15-year-old gay student who was killed at his school because of his sexuality and gender expression.
