Many Jews and Palestinians participated in the action. AIPAC describes itself as "America's leading pro-Israel lobbyâ€. AIPAC has supported the Israeli occupation of land that according to a UN resolution is illegal for them to occupy. The have also supported the recent invasion of Gaza and the 450 mile long wall that is separating Palestinians from their land and further restricting their movement. AIPAC wants Obama to give Israel 3 billion in military aid. Under U.S. Law governments that consistently violate internationally recognized human right are not allowed to receive assistance. Radhika Sainath, a human rights attorney who recently returned from the Gaza Strip said "We found strong evidence that Israel committed war crimes during its 22-day offensive," He then said “Israeli forces repeatedly violated international law by targeting civilians, blocking medical access to the wounded, and using weapons that cause needless suffering." Cars were confronted by people dressed in Israeli army uniforms. The Cars were allowed through the checkpoint after they received a new description of events that raised awareness about AIPAC's support for Israeli policies which violate international law. The crowd chanted, “Angelenos choose a side, human rights or Apartheid!†as the donors were entering the building." The apartheid regime in South Africa divided 13 percent of the countries total land into 10 noncontiguous Bantustancs which was where the black population lived. The settlements and the “separation wall†have divided the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem into 12 noncontiguous cantons which make up 12 percent of that area for Palestinians to live in. Lisa Adler a community organizer and Jewish leader said, “Tonight we are exposing AIPAC's support of Israel's Apartheid system and are letting the high-donors and political leaders of Los Angeles know that is it unacceptable to support Israel's separate and unequal treatment of Palestinians." Then she emphasized the need for boycott, divestment and Sanctions as was needed to end the South African system of apartheid. She went on to say “people of conscience around the world are increasingly supporting the Palestinian struggle for freedom and self-determination by boycotting all things Israeli."
