            • Former Rochester Cop On Trial <!--break--> In 1998 a Federal Jury found several Rochester Police Officers officers guilty of violating my and my family's civil rights here in Rochester. One of the officers was Nicholas Joseph. That's right, the same Nicholas Joseph that goes on trial tommorrow. Nicholas Joseph resigned from the Rochester Police Department shortly after a jury found he violated my civil rights by beating me and falsely arresting me. The jury awarded me and my family one of the largest police brutality verdicts in Rochester history. Nicholas Joseph resigned from the Rochester Police Department shortly after the Federal trial. Nicholas Joseph was then hired by the Greece Police Department. He is now charged with several felony counts including vehicular assault, leaving the scene of an accident where a pregnant mom was so badly hurt that she was forced into premature labor, and other charges! Nicholas Joseph had been drinking and was high on cocaine! He testified in front of a Grand Jury and lied, and picked up another charge as a result, perjury! Today Nicholas Joseph will have to face the music! I hope they throw the book at him! I wonder if he remembers how he abused me more than 10 years ago! How he treated my mom who was 68 years old at the time, how he threatened to shoot my small dog, then threw me against his police cruiser and smashed my face against the edge of the door! I wonder if he remembers that! Today is a good day, Nicholas Joseph, a dirty cop goes on trial.

Account Creation Policy Change

Rochester Indymedia is now requiring editor approval for account creation.

We came to this decision after we had repeated spam posted to our website that caused difficulty with the website's functioning.  We will still have open publishing and keep our site as nonrestrictive and accessible as possible.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.  As before, we will continue to be Rochester's grassroots news and education site.  Thank you for your continued support and remember, "Don't hate the media, be the media!"

Editorial Meeting Times / Locations

The Rochester Independent Media Center (R-IMC) is no longer meeting regularly.
We will set up meetings by necessity and appointment. Please contact us at rochesterindymedia@rocus.org.
Our home is still the Flying Squirrel Community Space at 285 Clarissa St. Occasionally, we hold meetings at RCTV located at 21 Gorham Street.
