Why DIY?
Do It Yourself Fest is a series of workshops on various skills and topics,
aimed at promoting community empowerment, encouraging self-sustainability,
and teaching the skills necessary to survive and thrive under a failing
economy.
The DIY Fest Planning Committee is a working committee of Rochester's
Students for a Democratic Society, a national youth and student organization
that works to mobilize young people for positive social change. The
Committee is asking for individuals and organizations to give workshops
on ANY topic they would be able to teach on.
Here is the information the Committee would like to have in order to secure
a time slot for your workshop:
- A brief outline of what you will be doing (this part will also be used in
our workshop schedule to describe your event... think of it as a mini-lesson
plan)
- Any special needs you have (time restrictions, space, materials, etc.)
- (Optional) A brief bio of the person/people who will be giving the
workshop
DEADLINE FOR WORKSHOP SUBMISSIONS: FEBRUARY 28th
