A disturbing Reality in Jewish Israel Society.

On Democracy Now Jonathan Ben-Artzi, the Nephew of Benjamin Netanyahu spoke. Benjamin Netanyahu is a hawkish politician that is leading in the poles and could become the next prime minister of Israel. He was asked to respond to a comment by Benjamin Netanyahu alleging Hamas Has ”openly declared its goal to eradicate the state of Israel from the face of the earth” Jonathan Ben-Artzi said ”maybe someone should go to Israel and poll Jewish Israelis how many of them think Palestinians should be eradicated off the face of the earth. You’d be surprised at the results” He helped to shed some light on the misunderstood reality about Israeli society. Many in America have been told that the Palestinians have a culture that is violent and hateful of Jews. They have also been told that this stems from their Islamic faith. They have been told its the Palestinians who want death and destruction. When one has to deal with the kinds of attitudes that prevail in some sections of the Jewish Israeli public and heavily influence government policy some Palestinians are driven to these attitudes, I admit. But his comments put in perspective just how wrong the perception in America is. Jonathan Ben-Artzi went on to say “for some reason, the Israeli population, the Jewish Israeli population is very much—has a lot of hatred towards these people, although, by all accounts, I would say that they’re actually very nonviolent. If instead of Palestinians we had as neighbors Irish people and we had to deal with the IRA, I think Israel would have a much rougher time.
