Discrimination is Unacceptable
Primary tabs
Every Friday from 6:30-7pm there will be an anti-discrimination rally at the Liberty Pole (intersection of main st and east ave) in downtown Rochester.
This rally started as a reaction to the Gay Marriage Bans, Single Person Adoption Ban, and Affirmative Action Ban in the 2008 Ballot Initiatives across the country. The first rally brought together 19 people.
If each Friday we take the responsibility bring a few more people, then we will grow to a critical mass. Silence is not an option any longer. Together we can protest a culture that translates the fear of difference into prejudice. Prejudice leads to discriminatory practices. We can fight homophobia, transphobia, and racism at every opportunity. The power of protest is one of many diverse paths to fighting an unjust system.
