Nov. 7 Rally for Change
Primary tabs
I am excited for the possibility of change. My hope for the newly elected
officials, Obama and the countless democrats, conflicts with my frustrations
about the ballot initiatives that banned both
affirmative action and gay marriage. However, if anything, it motivates me to
face the very difficult challenges that lie ahead. Racism and homophobia have
the same root of prejudice that leads to injustice. Fear of the different must
be combatted in every way possible. At the same time, these injustices create
something concrete to fight against.
These concrete issues and the hope for change has led me to organize a Rally. I
would like to unite a diverse movement of people who are as inspired as I am.
I want a forum to unite our differences. We must unite against racism,
homophobia, and all injustices. I am emailing
and meeting with as many people in the community as I possibly can, but I need
help. We must organize now, while our excitement is fresh. We can start with
one rally, then take the next steps to create an even more actively united
community for change.
I am asking everyone to spread the message to every outlet that you have?
I posted a pamphlet I made. If you don't like it, then you can make your own.
We need as many different voices as we can muster.
I am organizing it for Friday, November 7th at 6pm at the Liberty Pole.
Saturday it is supposed to rain, but Friday is supposed to be beautiful.
Please spread the email to everyone you know. And have anyone who wants to
talk please contact me, so I can figure out the interest. I can't do this
alone, we must work together.
