Israel: A Vibrant, Vigorous democracy
Primary tabs
It is true their are people in Israel that are not Jewish.
20 percent in fact.
They do not have the same legal protections as those that are Jewish.
They have full legal and civil rights.
They can vote.
They have represenation in Parliament.
There are Arab supreme court Justices
I once read an article where the assistant district attorney in Jerusalem stated he does not need cause to have a Palestinian picked up and detained.
There is no "assistant district attorney" position in Israel, which leads me to believe you've misunderstood/misinterpreted what you've read.
It is also difficult if not impossible for a Palestinian to get permits to build houses or to own land.
Its difficult for Jews, Christains and Bahai's too! Israel is tiny- about the size of New Jersey- and it is rich in historic artifacts and archaeology. Everyone needs to jump through hoops to get proper building permits
At any time their houses could be subject to demolition and they would be expelled from their property
This isn't true.
It would then be turned into Jewish only housing.
This isn't true, either
If they have agricultural land, it could be seized at any time for the exclusive benefit of Jewish people.
Not true. There was just a supreme court case where the route of the security barrier was changed because it was felt the proposed route caused undue hardship to Arab farmers.
So, there are people living in Israel who are not Jewish. The Israeli government is trying to put an end to that. Or at least force those that are not Jewish into ghettos so they can be practically erased from Israeli society.
Tell that to the Bahais. They'll laugh at you. The Bahai's fled genocidal terror in Iran and sought sanctuary in Israel. Israel granted them refuge, and the Bahais built their world center there. Its spectacular.
