Queer Radical Reading group 5/4

Ze next meeting
The word queer allows for a communal space for uniting a diverse collection of subjective backgrounds. You can reject the personal identity while still maintaining a space within the broader scope of the term. Or you can accept the personal identity, therefore continue the logical progression into the broader category. Either way, it is this difference that makes discussions so seductive. We all like being seduced both metaphorically and literally. Well, that's a rather far reaching statement and sometimes I wonder if Andrea Dworkin was capable of enjoying seduction. This is not a negative statement against Dworkin, since her history of sexual violence would transform anyone.
Nonetheless, I like metaphorical and literal seductions and I'm assuming that most of you like them as well. If you like having discussions with a variety of people who chances are will disagree with what you said, you should come to our next meeting. If you're glad that my original idea of a three hour long 1970's feminist film that takes place almost entirely in an apartment should be deferred (What does happen to a dream deferred?) then you should come to our next meeting. If you really like Virginia Woolf and want to discuss "Orlando" you should come to our next meeting. If you don't like Virginia Woolf then you should come to our next meeting and try to convert the masses, but most likely I will try my best to filet you like the meat that I haven't eaten in six years.
To sum up this announcement:
Book: "Orlando" by Virginia Woolf
Place: Daley Park (if it's pretty) my place if it's not (get your email on the listserv to find out my address)
Date: Sunday May 4, 5pm
Meat: Not eaten by me
Vigorous Discussions: One long seduction
Seduction: A must (unless you're Andrea Dworkin)
Queer: A radical reading group that you want to join as well as a really complicated word worth discussing.
