PEACE CONCERT IN SUPPORT OF MILITARY FAMILIES SPEAK OUT
Primary tabs
On April 17th, a concert will be held in the name of peace. This concert will be held from 6:00-9:00pm at the Knightspot, a small venue in the central academic area on the SUNY Geneseo Campus.
Comedians, poets, singers, song writers, and rock bands will all be performing.
This show is dedicated to bringing people together in the name of peace. The event is a fund raiser for the organization Military Families Speak Out.
Military Families Speak Out is a collective group of families opposed to the war in Iraq. All members have relatives or loved ones currently in the military or who have served in the military since the buildup to the Iraq war in 2002.
This organization continues to call on Congress to end funding for the war in Iraq and bring our
troops home quickly and safely. Funding the war is not supporting our troops. The way to support our troops is to bring them home now and take care of them when they get here.
Progressive Student Coalition, Military Families Speak Out, Genesee Valley Citizens for Peace, and the Alpha Delta Epsilon Sorority have agreed to co-sponsor this event.
A donation of $3.00 will be requested for admission to the event. All funds will be donated to Military Families Speak Out.
