They are asking for the approximately 22% of the land that they had subsisted on for hundreds of years and past down from generation to generation. The remaining 78% that Israel held before the 1968 war they were driven off of when the Zionist in 1948 officially proclaimed Israel as their state. Many of them fled to refugee camps and have been living in deep poverty ever since. They are willing to accept that many will never return to the homes that their fathers, grandfathers and great grandfathers built and planned to pass down to them.
