Immigration Followup Training: Sun, Apr 6, 2-5pm
Hello Good People:
Im sorry for the delay in this email, Ive been swamped and time slipped
away too quickly.
We scheduled a second meeting to continue the training on immigration that
started last month and to continue future collaboration. It is scheduled
for this Sunday, April 6, 2008, 2pm-5pm at NRC, 1272 Delaware Avenue,
Bflo. I will have drinks and light snacks, but not a full meal, at the
meeting. Everyone who provided an email address (that was read-able) is on
this email.
Topics that we said we wanted to explore include the following:
* Wavers, how they work, what they are - International Institute
* Role of Community Organizers, building the human face behind policy -
Syracuse Workers Right Center
*New Sanctuary Movement, "radical hospitality" - IPN, possibly WNY Peace
Center, Ill try to develop some information to begin with for Sunday
* Immigration Legality, 101/ background info
Below is a forwarded message about an additional immigration training in May.
Please reply and let me know if you will attend. If you arent able to
attend, please do a "reply all" and suggest alternate dates for future
meetings.
Thank you everyone,

FORWARDED MESSAGE:
Dear Pro Bono lawyers and VLP supporters:
On May 9, VLP will be hosting its annual "Immigration Basics" CLE for
attorneys at the Bar Association. Please pass this flyer on to colleagues
and friends in the profession, and for those who attended last year or in
prior years, feel free to attend again this year. Hopefully, those of you
who've handled an immigration case can let others know that it is a
worthwhile experience. I will also be sending a flyer to the pro bono
coordinators at the larger firms.
Thanks again for your support.
