ANNOUNCING A VERY SPECIAL EVENT “Engagement in Community and Society: A Journey of Forgiveness, Peace, and Purpose†Azim Khamisa, Founder and CEO Tariq Khamisa Foundation Tuesday, April 1st, 6-8pm SUNY Brockport Campus, Edwards Hall Room 103 (Gold Room) Free and open to the public. Khamisa established the Tariq Khamisa Foundation after his 21 year-old son was shot and killed by a 14 year-old being initiated into a gang. The Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to breaking the epidemic of youth violence. Khamisa speaks about gangs, violence, revenge and the importance of becoming peacemakers. Khamisa has recently spoken to many other communities touched by the consequence of violence, including Virginia Tech University .
