Public Defenders Organizing Meeting

There is a meeting scheduled for Thursday, February 21, at 7PM at the Central Church of Christ, 101 Plymouth Avenue, south of Broad Street. At this meeting, plans will be discussed for a MASS PUBLIC RESPONSE to the unethical behavior of the Republican Legislators and their leaders in thwarting due process in the selection of a new Public Defender. For anyone NOT aware of what has happened in this county, please read this week's City Newspaper for a synopsis. So far the key constituency has been the African-American community, but this issue is important to everyone who cares about good government. Please give serious consideration to attending the planning meeting and if you cannot, please pass the message to someone who can attend. We will continue to provide more information about future meetings and public responses.
