Andrew's one "lie" re: Mary Anna Towler

Just to clarify, the only time I ever made a factual assertion is as follows.

The Arts & Cultural Council (back in 2005, mind you) refused to provide us with legal assistance when FHF got evicted from 367 Lyell Avenue. They did provide us with a referral to the almost useless Legal Aid Society whom I had already contacted. Then the Arts Council pulled strings to yank our piss-poor legal aid right before our final hearing through Carla Palumbo (as I understand it), who served on the ACC board and as a director of the Legal Aid Society.

I accused the Sarah Lentini privately (within the ACC) of being "friends/partners" with the owner and refusing to provide us with services due to a conflict of interest. I think this is accurate.

I also accused Sarah Lentini of refusing to enforce a contract between myself and the owner that stated that the owner would keep the mural intact indefinitely. Although the Arts Council probably should have insisted on some sort of longevity agreement for the mural, they contract only stated that the owner knew about and approved the installation of the mural. I only found this out recently after I accessed City Hall records in late 2006.

Sarah Lentini could have let me know that I was factually inaccurate in that instance, but WANTED me to be factually inaccurate. Most of my assertions re: the A&CC were true. It made it easy for Sarah Lentini to cover up their dirty, self-serving behavior. They could just use that one screw-up on my part to cover up my many legitimate concerns.

After I made the accusation, Sarah Lentini did not make any written statement, but just called me on the phone, said I was a liar and threatened to sue me. Then she got her lawyer to send me a letter basically threatening to sue me. I told Ms. Lentini that she should sue me and later sent certified mail to her & Carla Palumbo a statement of facts as I saw them and asked them to respond to factual inaccuracies. Neither did.

I contacted NYSCA, one of the A&CC's funders and told them my side of the story. Oddly enough, Sarah Lentini's lawyer who had previously threatened me served on the board of the Rochester Area Community Foundation from which we had received funding. Shortly after I complained to NYSCA, the RACF issued a false statement saying that the RACF was suing FHF, which was significantly far from the truth, but a great way to discredit me from addressing any more of my concerns about the ACC. I have evidence of this... keep watching my posts.

So Mary Anna Towler is a little right when she says I'm a liar and can't be trusted.

Basically, in Mary Anna's neo-feudal world, I had committed the unthinkable and unforgiveable act of "speech-crime." And for this unpardonable act of criticizing those who were more powerful and affluent than me, I must be banished and destroyed as an "unperson." Kill the message and destroy the messenger. Eh, Mary Anna?

The City Newspaper is a racket, merely selling a fabricated, fake, supposed "on-the-street" reality designed for a target audience and to maximize profits, regardless of what the real world is actually like.

Which would be fine for a magazine, or an openly partisan newspaper. But not a "real" newspaper claiming journalistic credibility... but everyone knows that the City "Newspaper" isn't a newspaper anyways.
