The Double Standard of the Israel Can Do No Wrong Contingent
Primary tabs
It is always interesting how happy this contingent is to share stories of persecution against Jews. I myself could share stories of my grandfathers childhood in Easter Europe as a Jew. But why is it encouraged to listen to stories of persecution against Jews and anti-semitic to listen to stories of persecution by Jews against Palestinian or Lebanese people.
I read this article by a Jewish Israeli who was a member of the Holocaust Museum in Israel and he remarked about how reminiscent the abuses by Jewish settlers against Palestinian villagers were to his recollections of abuses against Jews where anti-antisemitism was rampant.
Why is it antisemitic to listen to the stories of Palestinians in Israeli detention centers who are being tortured even though there has been no evidence of wrong doing presented to them? Is it anti-semitic listen to stories of Palestinian homes being bulldozed to make room for an access road to a Jewish settlement or the expansion of a Jewish settlement. Occasionally these Palestinian homes have been bulldozed with the Palestinians in them. In any case they are left homeless and their only option is to stay homeless, find family or friends who's homes haven't been bulldozed or to go to a refugee camp.
In closing I believe most Jewish people are decent and morale. This is directed at those Jewish people who support the war crime and brutality that is government policy in Israel. Unfortunately I have many of these people in my family tree
