NEW HISTORY TOURS
Continuing the Public History/Public Art initiatives of the Obediah Dogberry Society, the New History Tours will further envision Rochester’s unique history through a series of guided bicycle tours. During the summer of 2007 monthly bicycle tours will take participants on thematic explorations of historic sites in Rochester’s downtown. Each tour will be led by an historian, biographer or otherwise expert. Tours will focus on little-known histories, for example few people know that the machine gun was invented in Rochester. The New History Tours will take participants to the site and tell the story. Each tour will result in an edited audio podcast that will be archived at http://www.tours.obadiahdogberry.org
and available for download shortly after this bicycle tour has take place. Additional rides are scheduled for the last Fridays of July, August and September. For a schedule and description of these rides please visit http://www.tours.obadiahdobgerry.org
