Hate Crimes Rally Planning Meeting
Primary tabs
We will be coming together this Friday, June 22, at 5:30pm, at Equal=Grounds (750 South Avenue) to plan an activist response to GLBTQI-targeted hate crimes in Rochester and in response to violence against the queer community around the world.
What was suggested/discussed after the forum last night:
- Actions: Mass letters to the editor of the D&C, Rally in front of RPD headquarters, Rally/March to corner of Goodman and Monroe, stop-n-park to block traffic on Goodman between Monroe and Park
- Date for Action: Some people have suggested that these actions take place on next week, to commemorate the anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion (June 28, 2007). From informal conversations, it seemes like Thursday, the 28th was not a good night for people (and I know it's not for me), but Tuesday was a possibility
Coming to this meeting is not a commitment to all of the mentioned activites. If you are interested in helping to plan these events, please come. And feel free to distribute this notice widely to others that may be interested. We need to act quickly and we need your help! Bring your ideas, skills, and imagination!
See you on Friday!
