Leading Israeli human Rights Groups Find Israeli Army Interrogators Guilty of Beatings and Other Human Rights Abuses

B'Tselem and The Center for Defense of the Individual concluded after considering the testimony of 73 Palestinian detainees that Israeli army interrogators routinely violate the human rights of Palestinian detainees. These violation include physical beating and sometime torture
Sarit Michaeli of B'Tselem Said “Some of these methods include sensory deprivations, the holding of interrogees in appalling conditions and painful shacklings for long periods of time. In some cases the ISA(Israeli army) uses methods that constitute torture under international law. Those methods involve the use of direct physical violence on Palestinian detainees in the opposition of course both to international law and also to the Israeli high court decision of 1999”
