The Rochester Area Vegetarian Society has its monthly meeting on Sunday, February 18, 2007. The program following dinner will feature animal activist and filmmaker Adam Durand, [co-]founder of Compassionate Consumers. Non-members of RAVS are very welcome.
WHERE: Brighton Town Park Lodge, 777 Westfall Rd., between E. Henrietta Rd and South Clinton Ave, just east of the Islamic Center; driveway to the park is called "Haudenosaunee Trail."
WHEN: Vegan potluck dinner at 5:30 PM; bring vegan dish to share, serving utensil, and place setting for yourself. Program at 7 PM:

Adam will discuss his experience of being jailed for the actions that enabled him to witness and record conditions in the Wegmans egg farm. He will give an update on the mission and goals of Compassionate Consumers, and will discuss some new filmmaking projects on behalf of the animals.
COST: Free to members. For the dinner, $3 guest fee for non-members (in addition to food to share). Guests who join RAVS the same day can deduct guest fee from membership dues. Guests who attend the lecture only need not pay a guest fee.
