Rochester Indymedia: New, Improved, and Functioning!
Primary tabs
As our most dedicated readers are aware, the Rochester Independent Media Center website has been down for some time. We switched our server and our site is now hosted from its new home in Ontario, Canada. As well as switching our server we also did a few software upgrades—and BAM(!)—we have a functional and new(ish) site. Hopefully the site's new look and upgrades will make it easier to navigate and easier to publish articles.

Some noticeable changes to Rochester Indymedia are the new user name and password login located on the upper left hand column, the moving of the Radical calendar from the top of the page under the banner to the left hand column, and the bolded and enlarged links at the top under the banner for uploading media and publishing articles. But wait! Let's not leave out the right hand column! That's right folks, the Newswire is once again functional—in other words, POST POST POST! In addition to these changes there is also a spam blocker now installed. When adding a new comment please fill out the spam code underneath the comment section and click submit. If you type in your comment without entering this anti-spam code and click submit, you will receive an error and be forced to re-enter your whole comment again. Please, don't let this happen to you!
Any thoughts on the new design or IMC application are welcome. We are open to suggestions on how to improve the banner (or the site), if anyone feels it needs to be improved upon. Any banners or other graphics IMC readers would like to contribute can be uploaded to the Media Gallery on the site.
Want to join a DIY-journalism collective? Have an organization that is under-represented in the media? Want to create your own media? Come join us! We meet regularly at 7pm every Tuesday, at the TV Dinner Space at 1115 East Main St., Office 368 (3rd Floor).
There will certainly be kinks we'll need to work out over the next few weeks so please bear with us.
Thanks Ben D. for your hard work on the installations!
