There’s a new kid in town, they’re throwing a party every week!
Julius Café, located at 543 Thurston Rd, is quickly becoming a place of choice for those looking for good food, good company and a good time. I am honored to be part of it, hosting the open mic there every Thursday and Friday.
Our open mic is a great time and my personal highlight each week. In addition to poets, we have singers and musicians; and we have been known to attract a comedian or two. Menu items include delicious coffee brews and a wide variety of subs, salads and soups (as well as an occasional larger entrée).
Children are welcome to the establishment, and there is even a special gaming area set aside for their enjoyment. Our open mic is kept “clean†- especially when compared to many of our rivals, so one need not worry about inappropriate commentary corrupting young minds.
What is most special about Julius Café is that it’s a family-run business making a Herculean effort to bring culture and pride to an area of town that sorely needs it.
That’s reason enough to come out and support the effort!
