On Saturday Night, April 22, Rochester gets a healthy dose of rock music, and new politics, all in support of a new Green media activist for Senate. Rochester local bands Rukus, The Demos, and Blessed Relief for Mother will join songwriter Holley Anderson and writer Andy Laties, and US Senate challenger Sander Hicks.
Hicks will talk about his vision for a moral, peaceful foreign policy. Laties and Hicks will both explain how "community economics" will bring a wealth of new jobs to upstate New York. Sander Hicks is a progressive publisher and a Green party candidate for US Senate.
Sander Hicks’ Key Campaign Issues:
• Impeach Bush. Prosecute all neo-conservatives who started an illegal and immoral war, and trashed the Bill of Rights.
• 9/11 must be re-investigated, but this time with government outsiders.
• To create jobs, America needs a new "Public Interest Venture Capital Fund." The fund will incubate "public-interest corporations" dedicated to alternative energy, organic agriculture, national health care, and public health. It will incubate the corporations of tomorrow, and reverse the umemployment rampant under corporate globalization.
• Electronic voting machines have stolen honest American votes, they must provide a paper trail, or be scrapped. Various local progressive groups will be tabling at the show and there will be a raffle featuring autographed books by Ralph Nader and Medea Benjamin.
If you cannot make the show, Hicks and Co. will be stopping by the Boulder Coffee Co, 100 Alexander Street on Sunday, April 23rd from 10:30am - Noon. Stop by and meet the gang.
