Green Party Kicks Off Movie Night With "Street Fight"

"Street Fight" is the first in a monthly Movie Night, where movies important to progressives will be shown and discussed for free.
ROCHESTER - The Green Party of Monroe County will be using the movie “Street Fight†for its first Movie Night in order to highlight the need for electoral reform. The movie and subsequent discussion will take place on Thursday, March 2nd at 7 PM at 179 Atlantic Avenue (on the corner of Elton Street). The movie and discussion are free and open to the public.
“Street Fight†is a documentary by Marshall Curry chronicling the 2002 campaign of Cory Booker for mayor of Newark, New Jersey against a 16-year incumbent. Issues of race, political underhandedness and party machine politics highlight this 90-minute movie as Curry follows Booker, his staff and his opponent through the campaign and its aftermath.
